Okay, Wait – Does Cryotherapy Actually Freeze Your Fat Off?
All things whole body cryo and CryoSkin for fat loss

With school, work, family obligations, and the occasional night out I just couldn’t find the time to get to the gym consistently enough. That didn’t mean I wasn’t trying to lose weight, though. I stuck to a clean diet but seemed to have plateaued – so annoying! Feeling defeated, I almost felt like giving up. I was thinking, “the beach is gonna have to take whatever body I give it this summer!” Have you ever been in the same place?
That’s not to say that you and I aren’t gorgeous the way we are, but it’s totally normal to want to drop a couple of pounds here and there. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that sometimes I just wanted that extra inch or so gone so that I could fit into my favorite pair of shorts – you know, the ones that had been in the back of my closet, collecting dust for a while now.
Well, summer is officially here and I was able to slim down just in time for the extra boost of confidence – and I did it by using cryo technology.
Hold up! Does Cryotherapy Actually Freeze Your Fat Off!?

Naturally, I get this question a lot working at the CryoBar. In the literal sense, no, you won’t come out of the whole body cryo chamber any thinner than when you got in. Whole-body cryo does, however, boost your metabolism like crazy. One session in the chamber can get your body to burn between 500-800 calories. That’s around 25-40 percent of a person’s average caloric intake!
If you’re doing cryotherapy consistently enough and in conjunction with your overall weight loss regime, then there’s no doubt that cryo could be a significant game-changer in your weight loss journey.
Aside from burning a good amount of calories, whole-body cryo also gave me the energy to hit the gym on days when I could, but would have otherwise been too tired to. Let me tell ya’, running on a treadmill or lifting weights is not successful (and quite frankly, just not very safe) after an exhausting day. Cryotherapy at least gave me enough of an endorphin rush to make it happen and to make it enjoyable. I was hitting the gym a lot more once I started chilling consistently. The muscle-repairing benefits of each chill sesh made it easier to get back in the game quicker, too.
How Else Did I Use Cryo to Slim Down?

A huge benefit of being at the CryoBar so often is getting to see and hear about people’s long-term experiences with some of our services. We’ve had CryoSkin 3.0 for a while now, but I had never thought to try it until I realized how great some of the results our clients were seeing are.
When using CryoSkin 3.0 for fitness purposes, the machine uses cryo technology to help you either lose inches or reduce cellulite. You can also do a CryoSkin facial, but I’ll tell you all about how great it is in another post! Clients typically see results in the first session, but to see best-sustained results it’s typically suggested a person does CryoSkin between 3-5 times.
I did five CryoSkin sessions on my tummy area as I prepared for summer vacay. You know the spot. That stubborn lower belly pouch that just refuses to budge. For me, the “muffin top” is always last to go (all diets and exercises considered). So you can imagine my shock when I took my final measurements and realized I had lost three inches in that area. Anyone who has ever gained or lost three inches knows that they go a looong way.
How does CryoSkin 3.0 work?

When looking to lose inches, CryoSkin uses thermal shock to target areas of fat.
CryoSkin 3.0 technology is intelligent enough to know the exact temperature needed to shrink fat cells in different areas of your body. The process is non-invasive, however, meaning there’s no damage done to your skin or other organs. It gets pretty cold but isn’t painful or dangerous.
Essentially, it feels like a high-pressure massage. The technician uses a special no-allergen gel on your skin, that can withstand the sub-zero temperatures. Then the technician presses the machine’s handle onto the skin and uses their other hand to isolate small pockets of fat over an entire area. Altogether a CryoSkin 3.0 session is close to around 45 minutes with no downtime.
The scientific process of CryoSkin is called cryolipolysis. This occurs when thermal shock causes the fat cells in the treatment area to shrink significantly. The fat cells are then expelled through your lymphatic system. Thus, it’s suggested you drink lots of water and get a good sweat in sometime after your session. Personally, I love using the infrared sauna to do that. It’s the easiest and most relaxing way to make sure you detox those fat cells from your system.

Think you wanna try CryoSkin for cellulite? A lot of our clients switch between slimming and toning treatments to get the full effects of CryoSkin 3.0. Other clients simply prefer toning for certain areas. Whatever your goals, the treatment is a proven success for both.
Unlike slimming treatments, toning treatments use only cold temperatures to achieve results. The temperatures aren’t as cold either. The technician will smooth the gel over the area you would like to work on. Then, with a swiping motion, the technician will apply medium pressure with the machine’s handle and use their other hand to follow its path.
The goal of a CryoSkin toning treatment is not cryolipolysis, but is instead to cause microcirculation of the cells below the skin. In doing so, the process induces increased production of collagen, elastin, while reducing dimpling of the skin.
Like slimming, toning treatments require about 3-5 sessions for best results. A toning treatment is also about 45 minutes after everything, with no recovery period.
Trying CryoSkin 3.0
If you’re hoping to see results, giving CryoSkin 3.0 a try is an absolute must! I’ve seen so many satisfied clients suggest it to their friends and now that I’ve tried it, I recommend it to anybody I know wanting to lose inches. It isn’t going to live up to any unrealistic expectations of double-digit fat loss, but it’s definitely a scientifically proven way to slim down in your measurements.
Right now there’s even an awesome special going on for CryoSkin called the CryoSkin Deluxe Package. You can purchase 5 CryoSkin treatments in conjunction with 3 infrared sauna sessions for only $1350. That’s a savings of $150!
If you’re not ready to go into CryoSkin treatments, I still highly suggest adding traditional cryotherapy to your fitness routine. The fitness benefits alone make it all worth it. You can get our Ultimate Athletic Recovery Package (3 whole-body sessions and 3 localized treatments) for $300!
